Pier Security, Waste of Money

The pier approach is basically a road with parking spaces and parking meters. Instead of being open and earning revenue, it will cost $20,000 per month to “secure” and close to cars but open to pedestrians. I am posting this segment, not just for this issue which I think merits more debate but to demonstrate that the http://www.granicus.com/ system of video and agenda used by the city is not sufficient. I am collecting input on how to make a better system. Just a few of my notes follow. My question to you is how can we use online social media to improve citizen monitoring and council member support/detraction.

Current problems with Granicus:
1) The downloaded video quality is too low.
2) The online video browser uses windows plug in.
3) There is no easy way to post to social media.
4) The video archive may not be available for days.
5) There is no record in searchable format of the votes.

I downloaded the video when available days after the event. Cut out the section and posted here.
